You can direct sound between any applications. However, you should know that Soundflower is a global audio space, so audio signals will be mixed if two or more applications send their sound to the same channel. For example, you can send Skype's audio signal to a recording application and to your speakers at the same time. Besides the two-channel virtual audio device, it also provides one with 64 channels, which gives you more possibilities. Soundflower is not limited to sending sound between two applications. In other words, if you can't select an audio device for your media player or audio recorder, you can still fool these applications, by replacing your Mac's speaker and microphone ports with Soundflower. If you open the System Preferences menu and go to Sound, you will find Soundflower among all other devices. Fortunately, Soundflower can be set as the default sound devices for the Mac itself. In certain applications, changing the sound devices is not possible. For example, if you want to record an audio track, you have to select Soundflower as your media player's output device and as the input device for a recording application. If you wish to send sounds from one application to another, you only need to select Soundflower as the default output device in the source application and as the default input device in the second one.
